Unbound is a new kink opera about searching for a sexual fantasy— the one you think you want, and the one that may change you.

Entering a dark gay fetish club, our main character meets men who offer him scenarios of desire, but no emotional connection. Then a stranger offers something new and different: a bondage experience.

Unbound is an hour-long opera in one act, scored for four male-identified singers and electronics (cued by a DJ who acts as music director).

Music for voices is scored in traditional music notation with electronic music cues but with some flexibility of vocal entrances, time-stretching by the DJ, and short melismatic improvisations.

Unbound premiered in Denver at Studio Friction from Aug 27-Sept 4 during six sold-out shows.
